WQB Mold Removal is a Excelsior, MN-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
We staff our Excelsior crews with people who've handled crawl-space colonization, attic condensation mold, and post-flood contamination โ not just cosmetic bathroom mildew.
We carry full liability coverage on every Excelsior job, and our dispatchers can usually get a technician on-site the same day a call comes in.
Ask any Excelsior property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
Beyond the remediation itself, we can coordinate with your insurance adjuster and provide the paperwork most Excelsior, MN carriers expect for a mold-related claim.
Not every mold problem announces itself with a visible black patch on the ceiling.
A stale, damp smell that lingers even after cleaning usually means active growth somewhere behind drywall or under flooring. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
Water stains on a ceiling or wall, even old ones, mean moisture got somewhere it shouldn't have, and mold often follows within 24 to 48 hours. We can check behind an old repair with a moisture meter in under an hour to put your mind at ease either way.
Children and older family members often show symptoms first, since they're more sensitive to airborne spores. A pattern of symptoms tied to one specific room in the house is often the strongest clue of all.
By the time spotting is visible on a painted wall, the growth has usually been active for weeks already. A quick photo sent to our office can sometimes help us gauge urgency before you even schedule a visit.
Every job starts with an inspection, not a guess, so the scope of work matches what's really growing behind your walls.
Our emergency teams arrive with containment barriers and air scrubbers ready to deploy the moment they walk in. Extraction equipment and industrial dehumidifiers go in immediately to slow the moisture before it ever has a chance to seed a new colony.
Bathrooms, basements, attics, and crawl spaces each get treated with methods suited to that specific environment, not a one-size approach. Affected drywall, insulation, and carpet padding are bagged and removed according to protocol rather than just tossed loose in a truck bed.
Our commercial crews coordinate with property managers on phased containment so parts of the building can stay operational during treatment. Multi-tenant properties in Excelsior sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Air sampling and surface swabs identify exactly what species is present before we ever propose a treatment plan. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Excelsior property.
Vapor barriers, sump discharge lines, and vent placement all factor into why crawl spaces in Excelsior, MN grow mold even in homes that look fine upstairs. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
For Excelsior properties with chronic humidity issues, we design a long-term moisture control plan, not just a one-time fix. Some Excelsior, MN clients set up an annual moisture check with us, especially in older homes with a history of basement dampness.
No surprises, no vague timelines โ here's exactly what happens once you call +1-844-578-1604.
A quick phone conversation helps us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip. Have a rough sense of when the problem started if you can โ it helps us plan the visit.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Negative air machines keep spores from traveling to unaffected rooms while the work is underway. We keep the work area as clean and orderly as the job allows throughout.
You'll get a written report you can keep for your records or share with an insurer. Any lingering questions get answered on the spot before we pack up.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
Dispatch times in Excelsior typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
Every job includes documented before-and-after testing, not just a verbal assurance that "it's handled."
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one โ if a Excelsior home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Local reputation matters more to a small Excelsior-area crew than a national franchise ever has to worry about, and that keeps us honest about scope, pricing, and timelines.
If regrowth tied to our workmanship shows up within the warranty window, we come back to your Excelsior property and fix it at no additional cost.

Answers to what Excelsior homeowners ask us most.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Excelsior, MN service areas. If you're dealing with active water intrusion, mention that when you call so we can flag the job as urgent.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. If we discover additional damage once we open a wall, we'll stop and get your approval before doing any extra work or adding any cost.
Our on-call crew handles active flooding, sewage backups, and sudden mold discovery around the clock, including nights and weekends. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
We collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab for species identification and spore-count analysis. Knowing the species matters because some, like Stachybotrys, call for stricter containment protocols than common surface mildew.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. Pets are usually fine staying in an unaffected part of the Excelsior home, but we'll flag any exceptions during the walkthrough.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. HEPA filtration during the job significantly reduces airborne spore counts outside the sealed work area.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
"Removal" implies eliminating all mold entirely, which isn't realistic since spores exist naturally everywhere, while "remediation" means returning spore levels to a normal, safe range. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. Bleach also doesn't address whatever moisture condition allowed mold to grow in the first place, so the same spot often returns within weeks.
